The shepherd of the cable industry is undoubtedly the Wire and Cable Branch of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association

This is an ancient yet fresh topic. The most discussed topic nowadays is who is the leader in an industry, rather than focusing on who is the shepherd in charge of the leader. I naively believe that based on the overall structure and development trends of China's cable industry, there is no enterprise that can truly be called a leader. Even if some companies claim to be leaders, they still need shepherds to supervise them. Based on my decades of observation and personal experience working in this industry, the cable industry, which has thousands of "sheep," still relies on the "shepherd" of the Wire and Cable Branch of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association to lead, manage, and supervise it. Moreover, this role is undoubtedly held by the Wire and Cable Branch of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association. This should be an indisputable fact.

In China's cable industry, there are already more than ten companies that claim to be leaders in the industry. In the Chinese cable industry, which claims to be the world's largest, some self proclaimed leaders, although somewhat successful in certain aspects and receiving praise from certain companies, cannot ignore the importance of the role of shepherds and excessively boast about the role of those so-called leaders.

As is well known, Shanghai Cable Research Institute was established in 1957 and is designated by the state to establish the Chinese wire and cable industry system and the national centralized unit for the wire and cable industry. Since its establishment, successive leaders of the institute have devoted themselves to guiding industry elites through passionate years and creating one brilliant achievement after another. Organizations such as the Wire and Cable Branch of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association, the Wire and Cable Professional Committee of the China Electrotechnical Society, and the National Standardization Committee for Wire and Cable have made tremendous contributions to the country's economic construction, national defense construction, and improving people's livelihoods. For a long time, large, medium, and small wire and cable enterprises across the country have encountered management and technical difficulties, and have sought assistance and guidance from cable companies. Therefore, the Cable Institute has long been the backbone of the entire industry, and the Wire and Cable Industry Association is an industry organization closely connected to enterprises. Some enterprises even refer to the association as their "maternal home", fully reflecting the respect and love of cable enterprises for the Cable Institute and the association. Cable laying institutes, industry associations, and national wire and cable quality inspection centers have become the "keywords" of the entire industry.

Since the reform and opening up, in order to adapt to the new market economy situation, the cable company and industry associations have carried out drastic reforms, united the vast number of enterprises in the industry, formed a mighty army of China's cable industry, led the industry to continue to develop, and advanced towards self-reliance in the world's cable industry.

As I write this, I cannot help but recall my growth process in the cable industry, where I received enthusiastic guidance and teachings from industry experts, professors, and scholars, which has made me grateful to this day. At the same time, I have also carefully reviewed the sweat and effort that the cable company and industry associations have put into this industry over the past few decades
